Crimson Peak- Trailer 2

I'm not a very big fan of horror movies. Especially the modern horror film. It usually consists of terrible acting, cliched plots and predictable jump-scares. I prefer more psychological movies, which sort of leaves the horror genre. There have been very few that I have actually enjoyed and appreciated. But take a horror movie, add A-list talent like Tom Hiddelston and Jessica Chastain and get Guillermo del Toro as the director, suddenly I'm interested. I really enjoyed this trailer for Crimson Peak. Not only is the acting talent fantastic, but del Toro is an extraordinary filmmaker. I loved what he did with Pan's Labyrinth, especially in the area of practical effects. del Toro is a very unique director with a very unique style, and that style was evident in this trailer.

Coming from a view point of not liking horror films, I actually really liked this trailer. Yes, have we seen the story of a person trapped in a haunted mansion with two crazy people a million times, but this looks like it is going to be very different. And while watching this trailer, you get the impression that what we are seeing is just the tip of iceberg as to what's to come in the film. The coloring and the cinematography looks beautiful, and I love how blood is constantly incorporated into the shots. I wasn't necessarily scared by the trailer, but I found it to be very fascinating and it definitely peaked (*wink*, *wink*) my interest.

What do you think? Did you like the trailer? Are you looking forward to Crimson Peak? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
