SDCC 2015: The Fantastic Four- Trailer 3
The Fantastic Four is a movie I have really been looking forward to. I've never understood the hate for this film. It really has only been because of the two sh*tty movies that came out ten years ago. This new film has nothing to do with those films, yet people have been preaching that this movie will suck. It just doesn't make sense to me. I am a fan of the Ultimate Fantastic Four comics, which is what this movie is seemingly based off of, and the cast is fantastic (no pun intended). They got some of the best young actors working today in Miles Teller (Reed Richards), Kate Mara (Sue Storm), Michael B. Jordan (Johnny Storm), Jamie Bell (Ben Grimm) and Toby Kebbell (Victor von Doom). I have really liked the past two trailers, and I have been stoked for this movie. And this weekend, at San Diego Comic Con, we got our final trailer for the film.
I love this trailer. I might like it best of them all. What's really clear is that these four are going to become a family, which has always been a quintessential aspect of the characters. They are a family united by a common "mutation". And while they may have differences, they have to come together to stop this threat of Doom. I love the look of Doom. He looks like a vast improvement over the Doctor Doom from the other movies. I like that they are only alluding to him as opposed to directly showing him. It makes him more ominous and threatening. I also liked how they showed more of Reed and Ben as kids, and how that will shape their friendship as adults. Overall, I thought this was just a really great trailer, and it made me even more excited to see the film in August.
