Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens- International Trailer

The third and final trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (which you can see here) was released recently and got everyone excited for the upcoming film. It was filled with new footage, and gave us our first look at the story, as well as a lot of new characters. But with the release of the trailer came the conformation that it would be the last trailer for the film. This was both a good and bad thing. It was good that we wouldn't be over-saturated with Star Wars, and that there would be plenty of surprises left for us to experience in the theater. It was also bad, as everyone is on the edge of their seat waiting for the tiniest glimpse of new footage. But I was content with the final trailer. It was a really good trailer, and I bought my tickets and was ready. And now, LucasFilm has unexpectedly blessed us with the international trailer, which is filled with new footage.

I really like this trailer. I'm not going to say that it's better than the official trailer, because it feels like it's not complete. It seems like this is footage that the studio wanted to put into the official trailer, but cut out. It feels like a shadow of the final trailer. I think an amalgamation of the two trailers would create the best trailer, and I hope a fan is able to cut that together. But the new footage reveals a lot. It surprisingly has a large focus on BB-8, the new soccer ball droid. While the design of the droid has grown on me, I don't like it's "voice". The noises it makes in the trailer frankly annoyed me. However, I do think it is something that will grow on me as the movie progresses. We saw a lot more badass shots of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), and even saw some fleeting new shots of Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and our first look at C-3PO (Anthony Daniels). We also got to see Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) in action, throwing a grenade. Overall, this was a great surprise, as the trailer came with no warning, and it adds to my overflowing excitement to see this film. J.J. Abrams-- you better not have f*cked this up!
