Deadpool- Home Video Release Will Have a Director's Cut

Right now, Deadpool is being praised for fully embracing its R rating. From the trailers, we know it will be filled with profanity, will be chalk-full of brutal violence and won't hesitate to throw around sexual innuendos. Fans have been excited to see Fox go for it, and not hold back. Sure, this could have been a very big financial risk, but the marketing team has raised interest in this film to the point that it's sure to succeed-- and part of that marketing campaign had to do with the fact that they were marketing a hard-R action comedy.

But now, it seems that there is more to see, that didn't even make it into the theatrical cut. Director Tim Miller has said that there will be a director's cut released with the Blu-Ray, which will include even more "raw" footage. This is very exciting to hear, because it shows that they have even more outrageous and uncut footage just waiting for fans. I hope it's not one of these "extra five minutes" that doesn't really mean anything: I hope they go for entire scenes that would have pushed this film past the point of an R rating. This director's cut has the potential to be an even better cut of the film, if done correctly. So hell yeah, I'm excited to see it. But right now I'm focusing my excitement on the actual theatrical cut coming out in just a couple weeks now.
