First Look at Jason Momoa as Aquaman

It seemed like, for a while, if someone mentioned Aquaman it would kill a party. He was always the butt of every joke and pretty much made out to be a really ridiculous character. And in some comic book iterations, he is. However, Aquaman can also be a complete badass. If you have not played the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game or read the corresponding comics, I highly recommend it. Aquaman is recreated as a player on Superman's level and is one of the best characters there. He is also well done in the New 52 DC comics, where you really get to see how great he can be. But still, there are people who laugh when you mention Aquaman. With the DC Cinematic Universe taking form, Aquaman has already been confirmed to not just have his own movie, but he will be in next year's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. When actor Jason Momoa was cast as the hero, it was clear that they were going for the badass Aquaman, instead of a lonely guy who's only friends are fish.

Now we know what Momoa looks like as Aquaman. Director Zack Snyder tweeted this picture, revealing Momoa in costume. You can see it below:

I think this looks awesome. I think Momoa is perfect casting and he looks great. He has everything that is classic Aquaman but reinvented. He's got the trident, the "belt buckle" and whatnot but it's all done to make him look cool instead of ridiculous. The tattoos are a great addition, too. I think he embodies everything that a badass Aquaman should be. As to what "Unite the Seven" means, I think it's a reference to the "seven seas", or maybe there are seven members in the Justice League. It probably means the former.
