Prometheus 2 Renamed; Official Logo and Synopsis Revealed

I am pretty sure everyone working on the next Prometheus film is high on crack. Because that is the only explanation for all the sh*t coming out of that production. Putting aside director Ridley Scott's tug-of-war on whether the film would tie into Alien or not, the movie has just come out with the title Alien: Paradise Lost. Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 was also pushed back indefinitely (you can read about that here) in favor of Scott's potential third and fourth Prometheus films that would discover the origin of the Xenomorphs, but yet somehow still loosely connected to the franchise. It's a mess, to be honest. And now we have more sh*t to add to the show.

The film has been renamed officially from Paradise Lost to Alien: Convenant. The logo for the film has also been released, alongside a synopsis for the movie that only amounts to more questions.

"Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: CONVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS-- and connects directly to Scott's 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Convenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world-- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."

I am so f*cking confused right now it's not even funny. The title change is not that big of a deal. I preferred Paradise Lost, because it sounded cooler and more interesting, but Covenant is fine. What confuses me most is the synopsis. First of all, it details that this is a prequel trilogy, which irons out Scott's comments about doing a third and potentially fourth film. It also says it will tie directly into Alien, which just confuses Scott's comments about these films having no Xenomorphs and having barely anything to do with his original film. Michael Fassbender is mentioned to be returning as the android David, but where's Noomi Rapace? Prometheus ended with Shaw (Rapace) and David (Fassbender) traveling together to Paradise, the homeland of the Engineers. So what happened to her? I really hope that someone can clarify all these mixed messages coming out of Prometheus 2 right now, because I am very confused as to what this film is supposed to be.

What do you think? Do you like the new title? What about the logo? Are you confused by the synopsis, or does all of this make sense to you? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
