First Trailer for Doctor Strange
So, sorry that this is a few days late, but I have been very busy in my personal life. But none of that really matters now, because we have the first trailer for Doctor Strange! I've been really looking forward to seeing this, because this film has so much potential. I have said from the very moment that Benedict Cumberbatch was even in consideration to play the character that he was absolutely perfect casting. And since then they've accumulated an incredible cast, including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen. Plus, this film opens up a whole different world for Marvel. It will be exploring magic and alternate dimensions, and could visually look spectacular. And now that we have our first trailer for Doctor Strange, we can confirm that this film is really going to be something special.
I really like this trailer. The visuals are impeccable. There are many Inception-esque shots of reality bending and mirroring itself. It confirms for me that this is the perfect time to make this film. A Doctor Strange movie couldn't truly have been made twenty years ago, because CGI has finally gotten to the point where you can do the property justice. The actors all look great. Cumberbatch breaks out his American accent, which I wasn't a huge fan of. It's not that it was bad, but I would have preferred they kept him British. I have just become accustomed to his British accent, and I think it would have added a little bit of worldwide diversity to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course, the biggest shocker in this trailer is Tilda Swinton being bald. I have heard mixed feelings on this from many people, but I kind of like it. Kevin Feige has mentioned before that they tried to leave her sex anonymous, and by making her bald they accomplish that. It's different, but I like it. Overall, I thought this was a really good trailer, and I am very excited to see a full-length one.
