Logan- Redband Trailer 2
**Warning: Contains Violence and Strong Language**
While Logan is not my most anticipated comic book movie of the year, it is probably the one I'm most interested in seeing, simply because it is going to be so radically different from any other X-Men film we've had before. Not only will it be rated R, but it's going to a depth and an emotional level that I don't think any other X-Men movie has tapped into. The first trailer was absolutely incredible. The use of the Johnny Cash song set up this bleak, Western world. We see a rundown Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), who doesn't have much hope left... not that he had much to begin with. The trailer created this absolutely fascinating atmosphere that really made me excited to see this film. So I've been looking forward to seeing a second trailer. The redband trailer that accompanied the first trailer only had one R-rated shot in it, so I was hopeful that we would get a full redband trailer. One that would be more true to the actual nature of the film. I also wanted to get a better glimpse of the action, a deeper look into the story, and a more intricate showing of the characters. So, needless to say, I was very excited when a second trailer popped up online today.
I loved this trailer. In my mind, I rank it very close to the original trailer. What surprised me was how many moments of levity there were. The first trailer was so bleak that I didn't think that humor could exist in this movie, but this trailer proves me wrong. And it's not Deadpool laughs at all. It's more sarcastic, and it works in the context of the film. The first trailer focused more on the drama, rather than the action. But this trailer has a lot more action, and it looks fantastic. The choreography of X-23 (Dafne Keen)'s fighting was raw and brutal, and Wolverine's beserker rage looked even better! This is going to be bloody, gory, and a hell of a film to watch! The personal moments in this trailer aren't as personal as in the first, but they're still deep and moving. I think Patrick Stewart's Professor X could steal the movie, especially if he turns out more lines like he has at the end of the trailer. Ultimately, I think Logan could end up being the best comic book movie of next year. I think all the pieces are in place for it to be the most serious, dark and emotionally resonating comic book film since The Dark Knight. I have a lot of expectation for this movie, and I think this could end up being something really special.
What do you think? Did you like the second redband trailer for Logan? Are you looking forward to seeing the film? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
